League of Our Own Washington is dedicated to recruiting and training women who believe in limited government, free markets, and fiscal responsibility to run for public office.
Women run for office at much lower rates than men and are far less likely to be encouraged to run by political figures, family, or friends. We believe government works better when we’re all a part of the team.
That's why we're doing things differently.
There is a place for everyone at League.
Inspired by professional baseball’s recruitment model, our goal is to find women who want to run for office, either now or in the future, and build a statewide network of people who can support them along the way.

We’re building a state-wide network of Prospects, Scouts, Coaches, and Fans.
Our goal is to recruit women who want to run for office either now or in the future and people who can support them along the way. We give our members the tools and training they need to be effective and successful.
Women who would make excellent candidates & elected officials, and are willing to work to make a difference.
Prospects are the talented women who are running or just thinking about running for public office. They believe in limited government, fiscal responsibility, and free markets. They are stay-at-home moms, business professionals, retirees, nurses, doctors, and more—they are simply women who want to make a difference!
Successful men and women who can serve as mentors to Prospects and provide guidance to League.
The Mentor Coach program is unique to League and we know from experience that one-on-one relationships between experienced leaders and Prospects have a huge impact. Our Coaches have valuable experience in local government and have honed their skills to produce winners and difference-makers. They provide guidance, focus, encouragement, and mentorship, and ultimately empower woman to step up to the plate
Recognize and recruit talented women to run for office.
Scouts are our eyes and ears in the community. We rely on a broad and diverse network of Scouts constantly looking for talented women who have the potential to be exceptional candidates, now or in the future. Scouts are constantly on the lookout: work events, PTA meetings, rotary club, or even the grocery store.

How do we encourage women to step up to the plate?
The solution is as American as baseball:
we need a league of our own.
- We recruit candidates year-round. Effective candidate recruitment isn’t seasonal and your path to run for public office can start today.
- Joining is low commitment. There is no cost, no mandatory time commitment, and no expectation that you’ll run for office right away.
- We provide everything you need to be a successful candidate and effective leader. Our Prospects receive training, tools, mentorship, networking opportunities, resources, and more. When the time comes, you’ll be prepared to approach your candidacy with confidence.
